Monochrome Theme: 13th Century Kitchen

I have fallen in love with the Abbot's Kitchen in Glastonbury Abbey...

wooden bowl
*
...beauty and simplicity - food straight from the herb garden and fish pond, just outside...

woodpile
*
...self-sufficiency at its best; no excess wrapping on the food, none of it wasted, no "food miles"...

lantern

...beauty is simplicity.

The rest of my pictures from the Abbot's Kitchen are here.

Believe it or not, this doesn't look that much different to our kitchen on Inishfree in 1990.

Beautifulto look at and to learn about the old times.... but I think I would prefer to cook in a more modern kitchen! great pictures.

I totally agree with the simplicity of food and packaging, such a waste...

Lovely sentimental shots (in the best sense of sentimental) The details are wonderful.

I agree it is a very interesting place to visit. I work in Glastonbury and visit the Abbey as often as I can. The photographs look very good in sepia.

Beautiful photos, and very fitting for both monochrome and sepia!

But the main reason for visiting, is the following:
A couple of times Today's Flowers have experienced that the guest friend has forgotten to make an entry on their guest day. That is why we have decided to ask for an e-mail adress from each one. Can you please send me your e-mail, and I will remind you when it is your turn. My e-mail adress: cissom@hotmail.com. And please tell me which name you have on your blog!

Have a nice week!
