It has been several years since I last found Edinburgh an interesting place to be. My studies here are fascinating, but I've really fallen out of love with the city itself. I've always liked the museum, though. The old part of it closed several years ago for renovation work and has only just opened up; I can't compare the exhibitions with the old as I don't remember them, but it was a pleasant surprise to visit once again and find the huge galleries just as inspiring as before.
An Irish Elk skeleton reminded me of home (there is one in the Ulster Museum too)
The strange inner workings of the Millenium Clock, sadly not keeping the time anymore
Bronze Age shields in the Early People gallery.
A wall of glowing stars in Science/Astronomy gallery.

That's a wonderful museum. You got some great shots and they are perfect for monochrome.
Nice shots, especially I like the third.
Regards and best wishes
Wonderful shots. My favorite is the second. Nice light and colors :)
My favourite shot is the Millenium clock - I have been thinking about gears and such for a while now!! I love the Irish elk, though, and the lines of the museum seem modernly open and clean, not something I would have expected!
They are all so good. I love the light in the first, and the great height of the roof. I also like the workings of the clock, the patterns of the shields... Fine photos.
Sorry to be so late - computer trouble!
Hi Kitty,
I like the picture of the shields a lot, the patterns appeal to me.
Sorry I took so long to return your visit, I don't know quite how it happened!
some really cool compositions in this series, and great lighting in that first shot. Cool!
