The lochan

On Sunday we munched lunch as we sat among the spreading roots of ancient scots pine that grew beside this lochan. We had been informed earlier that it is called the Green Loch, and were well impressed when we arrived to find that it was really and truly green.

What a beautiful place, steep and green slopes with a tinge of Autumn colours.

I remember being struck by the colour of the Green Loch on a hike from Blair Atholl to Aviemore a few years ago. It looked a very tempting spot for a swim!
